Be kind to one another and treat others as you wish to be treated. This adage has always been present in my mind, but recently, I have found new meaning in it. I am sure you have heard of the phrase as well, but what does it actually mean? We know that we should be nice to each other, but what efforts do we take in that direction? We say that we want to be kind, but do we really mean it?
Everyone seems so busy going about their day that they forget to treat each other well. When something or someone gets in our way, it is so easy to get mad. Heck, I am guilty of this sometimes. It is all a matter of perspective; if we put kindness and positivity out into the world, we could possibly make someone’s day better, but the converse will be true if we channel only negative emotions.
Just the other day, Niklas and I went into the city and decided to hand out flowers to the beautiful people of Amsterdam. We approached many strangers, told them how beautiful they were, and gifted them a flower. In return, we received the brightest and most beautiful smiles. Such a small gesture was able to make someone’s day so much better. I wish that you could see their smiles in person (you will when we release the video).
One bouquet was simply not enough. I wish that I could give flowers to everyone in the city. A small act of kindness is all it takes to make someone’s day better. We all have a choice, to channel positive energy into the world or to emit negativity. If we all choose to be kind and friendly to one another, the world will be a much better place. Together, we can do this, one step at a time!
